Syed Ali Saeed
Founding Partner
Champion for Consumer Rights and Community Advocate with a Passion for Estate Planning
Syed Ali Saeed is a practicing attorney and founding partner at Saeed & Little with a background in mechanical engineering. He focuses his practice on estate planning, advising small- and medium-sized businesses and non-profit organizations, and complex litigation including class actions and mass torts.
Ali has significant litigation experience representing both consumers and businesses against other businesses (Saeed & Little never represents businesses against consumers). As a consumer advocate, Ali has been part of some of the largest class-action lawsuits in the country involving consumer protection statutes. He has been involved in numerous high-impact class action litigations against corporations, banks, debt collectors, insurance companies, and state governments on behalf of various victimized groups including employees, consumers, parents of children with developmental disorders, prisoners, and insured patients. Ali is chair of the membership committee for the National Association of Consumer Advocates (“NACA”), the largest consumer advocacy group in the United States. He routinely presents on topics related to consumer protection laws and class actions by local and national organizations.
Ali has represented several small- to medium-sized businesses through numerous multi-million-dollar deals, compliance audits, mergers, and acquisitions, as well as litigations involving contractual and IP disputes against other businesses. Ali’s extensive litigation experience helps focus his clients on what is important for limiting their exposure and avoiding legal fees.
Lately, to better serve the people of Indianapolis, Ali has started focusing on Estate Planning. In most cases, the event that triggers the need for a lawyer comes prior to your attorney search, but with Estate planning, the attorney search must come first. Nobody wants to imagine their death or disability, but creating an estate plan is one of the most important steps you can take to safeguard yourself and your loved ones. It is a common myth that Estate Planning is only for the very wealthy, but that could not be further from the truth: Everyone should have basic estate planning. Estate planning not only includes planning for asset distribution upon your demise, but also encompasses advance directives, including advance healthcare directives, living wills, a health care proxy, a medical power of attorney, a financial power of attorney, and other documents to make your wishes and desires known so that they can be carried out.
Ali is deeply engaged in the local Indiana Community and frequently volunteers his professional and personal time for various causes, a fact that is recognized by his peers. In 2016, Ali was the recipient of the Access to Justice Award for his efforts and contributions in the non-for-profit world and promoting social justice. Ali has also been repeatedly nominated by his peers as Rising Star between 2016-2021. Ali is currently the President of a local Advocacy Network. For the past 10 years, he has been actively involved with Seeds of Learning, a non-profit corporation aimed at promoting education third-world countries. Ali also currently serves on the board of MAI, a group he’s been affiliated with for over a decade, including a two-year stint as the Director of Legal Services where he headed a domestic violence and immigration-focused legal services program. He also serves as a board member for The Heartland-Pro-Bono Project, a social justice non-profit, and The New Citizens Project, an immigrant’s rights-focused non-profit.
